The Nature Reserve currently totals approximately 6,500 acres including The Richard and Donna O’Neill Conservancy, the Ladera Ranch Open Space and other dedicated open space associated with the Villages of Sendero, Esencia and Rienda in Rancho Mission Viejo. Over time, The Nature Reserve will grow to include over 20,000 acres of Rancho Mission Viejo lands. The map below shows both The Reserve and the County of Orange habitat reserve lands that together make up the Southern Subregion Habitat Reserve.
